简介
Prof. Matthias Beller studied chemistry from 1982 to 1987 at Georg-August-Universität, Göttingen. He got his doctoral degree from the Institute for Organic Chemistry at Georg-August-Universität, Göttingen in 1989 with Prof. Dr. L. F. Tietze. Then He moved to MIT (USA) for postdoctoral research with Prof. Dr. K. B. Sharpless. From 1991 to 1995, he worked in Central Research at Hoechst AG. In 1996, he was employed as an associate professor for inorganic chemistry at the Technical University of Munich. In June 1998, he was appointed as the director of the “Leibniz-Institut für Organische Katalyse an der Universität Rostock e.V.(LIKAT)” aligned with a full professorship "Catalysis" at the University of Rostock. Since Dec. 2005 until now, he worked as the director of the newly founded LIKAT. Since Oct. 2009, he has been becoming the Member of the “German National Academy of Sciences” (德国科学院院士). He got many very important awards, such as Otto-Roelen-Medaille der DECHEMA (1997), Merck-Frost-Lectureship an den Universitäten Toronto, Montreal, Kingston (2002), Novartis Chemistry Lecturer(2003), Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize of the DFG (2006), Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (2006), Paul Rylander Award of the Organic Reactions Catalysis Society (2010), European Sustainable Chemistry Award (2010), American Chemical Society GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable Lecturer (2011), Gay-Lussac-Humboldt Award of the French Academy of Sciences (2012), BASF-Lectureship of the Scripps-Institute, La Jolla, San Diego, USA (2012), Vice-President of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Society (2012), Evonik-China-Lectureship, China (2013), JSPS-Lectureship, Japanese Ministry of Science and Education (2014), Emil-Fischer-Medailleder GDCh (2014), ERC Advanced Grant(2015). He is the member of the Editorial Advisory Board for many journals, such as Advanced Synthesis and Catalysis” (since 2001), “Organic Process Research & Development ”(since 2005), “Topics in Organometallic Chemistry” (since Aug. 2008)”, “ChemCatChem” (since May 2009), “Organic Chemistry Frontiers” (Since 2014). He became the member of the Board of trustees of the journal “Angewandte Chemie” in Oct. 2010 and became the Chairman of the Editorial Boards of ChemSusChem since Jan. 2008. Until now he published more than 700 publications on Science, Nature, Nature Chemistry, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed... and about 100 patents
